Fun times with Mimi and Paw Paw Pete

This past week Mimi/ Maw Maw Betsy and Paw Paw Pete were in town and we had the best time. I still had to work (unfortunately) so Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday Mimi and PawPaw were in charge of Ellie - as you can see from the pics below they had a great time. They went to the park, played at home and had an overall great time. I am sure there are plenty of bad habits I will have to break since they tend to spoil ellie when they are here but it is hard not to spoil the little angel. Ellie was a little underweather all week with a sinus infection but you would never have known it as she still was all smiles when it came time for pictures. SHe is already such a ham. It was so sad to see Mimi and Paw Paw go- they were such a big help and I wish we all lived closer as it is such a wonderful thing to see Ellie with two people who love her as much as Otto/Mike and I do. We can not wait to see them again this June. There are tons of pics below as my mom is so good at taking pics- enjoy.
Look at that devilish grin on Ellie- she knows she has PawPaw wrapped around her finger. Ellie's first trip down the slide- Yeah.

Mimi and Paw Paw can sure wear a girl out!!!

Squeaky Clean!

Happy girl- she is so adorable.

Sitting like a big girl- ellie accomplishes another milestone- she is growing up too quick.

Elizabeth McLoughlin Glass (Mimi) and Elizabeth McLoughlin Piedmont (Ellie)- I love they are named after each other.

Ellie's First Easter

Happy Easter!! We had a great day. Mimi and Paw Paw Pete came in town and ellie was spoiled with attention and toys. we were pretty camera happy and she cooperated quite nicely smiling the whole day. She was also a perfect angel at mass but I did not expect anything less. She is such a joy and I love watching her with my parents - it was such a great day!!! I could talk forever but instead I will just let the pictures speak for themselves- hope you all had a wonderful easter. She is so beautiful!!

I love this smile- she is such a stinker!

Some pics

Not much to post but after no pictures with the last post I wanted to post two new pics of ellie. She is to about 13 and half pounds and eventhough she is still tiny she seems very big to us. She is such a joy and we are so looking forward to Mimi Betsy and PawPaw Pete coming in town for Easter. I am sure to have lots to post next week and Mimi is much better about taking photos.

I also want to ask everyone to please keep all the Oklahoma families who were affected by the wildfires yesterday in your prayers. 9 enlisted families in Otto/Mike's squadron lost their entire home or suffered serious damage- I can not imagine losing everything in a matter of minutes and it once again makes you realize how much we have to be thankful for. Love you all.

Big Developments and Poop

Hey All- no pics this post which means - sorry to disappoint but life has been hectic at the Piedmont house. I have been overwhelmed with work and as my friend told me today the "second shift" which is the work I have to attend to once I get home. This last deployment was pretty tough as I was drained before I even got home and you can't really tell an 8 month old to bathe herself because mommy is tired- ha ha. Otto/Mike finally got home on Thursday- in typical Tacamo fashion he was supposed to get home on Wednesday but of course the plane broke and he was delayed. I would not have imagined any less for our last deployment. But he is home safe and that is what is most important and now we can start living like real families do and not worrying about the next time he will leave.

As for Ellie news- she has her first tooth. I believe the second is close behind as she has been fussy and had some poop issues (sorry for the sensitive stomachs out there) It is amazing how comfortable you get about discussing poop once you have a baby. I feel like every conversation I have comes back to poop. Ellie's stomach was upset last week which I believe is associated with the teething even though the on call nurse practically ripped my head off when I suggested that. Anyways, I spent about 20 minutes on the phone with the on call nurse discussing ellie's poop and whether there was a chance she was internally bleeding- her words not mine. Let's just say the nurse left something to be desired in the way of dealing with overly worried/ paranoid new parents. Following this lovely conversation, I called ellie's daycare and literally left the following message "this is ellie's mommy, could you please call me back as I would like to discuss her diapers further" embarassing. I was actually upset that the daycare lady had not kept her dirty diaper so that I could examine the poop. The whole night I was hoping ellie would poop so I could it examine it per the nurse's instructions (again she was a real winner). Of course this all happened the night mike was supposed to be home but got delayed- one final kick the you know what before our deployments ended. Needless to say ellie is not bleeding internally- phew- and I still believe it is somewhat related to the tooth- anyday now when the second tooth pops through I will secretly curse the terrible nurse who had me panicked that my child was bleeding internally.

I also in the last week have convinced myself that Ellie has a serious rash which needs to be examined- this all comes from looking at pictures on the internet which i have decided that medical websites are a new mom's crack- I have become so addicted searching everything from diaper rash to tylenol overdosing (I got worried after giving her some tylenol for the teething). Being a new mom can make you crazy, but it is so worth it and I love every minute of it even the times I am obsessing!!! I am starting to feel so guilty for all the things I made my mom and dad worry about. I know some day these little poop worries will turn into much bigger dangerous stressors like ellie wanting to drive- AGH! so for now I will keep searching the internet and calling bad on call nurses and enjoying my little worries because I would not want it any other way.

Ellie Update

SOrry the pictures and message got out of order and I did not have the patience to try and fix it. So see below for all the Ellie news.
Notice her shirt says she loves mommy- she may be saying dada but we know who her true favorite is- ha ha. HELP- this is what mommy does when she is sad daddy is away and needs a good laugh- somebody get me a brush!!!

So cute sitting up!!!

Happy Easter- again- another form of my mommy's torture. The things I put up with from that woman!

Action Shot- she how much she love her jumper now- I wish they made these in adult sizes!

Hi All- Not much to report here. I have been very very busy at work and otto/mike is still deployed so not much time to post. But I just keep repeating that this is the last one- woo hoo. Ellie is getting bigger and bigger and doing cute new things everyday. She is sitting up well now although she still prefers to lay on her back and play most of the time. She loves her exersaucer and watching baby einstien. She is saying dada- it is mostly just babbling but I am convinced she knows what it means because she started saying it a day or two after otto/mike left and I think she is asking for him- ha. It is so cute to hear her sweet little voice and after a long day at work the first time she says dada makes all the stress go away. She is laughing all the time and loves to be suprised. And her new trick is to makes raspberries with her tongue- basically she is just spitting but it is so cute- I am sure I am not supposed to encourage her to spit but I can not help it as she is so adorable and i just love all the new things she does.

She is already very active and I bet she will be crawling in no time. Right now she turns in circles and scoots backwards. At night she moves all over her crib and I often have to go in and rescue her as she has gotten stuck in a corner or her hands stuck in the rails. I have already made a list of things we must do to child proof once Otto/mike gets home- the easy days of her not being mobile are quickly coming to an end.

Well that is about all the news I have- I warned you it was not very exciting- I will post pics as we all know that is the best part of every post. Love Amy

Great Day

Ellie and I had a great day. My sweet friend Mary Kay invited us up to Edmond for some play and lunch. Now many of you know that I love edmond and am so ready to move up there from norman. I am more than willing to drive the 35-45 minutes to get up there because it is where most of my friends live and I am still kicking myself that we did not move there originally. But with Otto/Mike's orders being set we are now trying to move up to edmond. Anyways, Ellie and I just had the best time visitng with our edmond friends and can not wait to do it again soon. Ellie put on a new dress as the weather is finally warming up and she looked absolutely adorable if I do say so myself. Here are some pics to enjoy of my cutie potutie! How can you not love her.

She is so happy all the time- we are so lucky!

The future is so bright I gotta wear shades

Ellie is ready for Spring!!! She looks so adorable in ther sunglasses even if they only stay on her face for about 2 seconds and then end up in her mouth- but she kept them on long enough for the pic so I had to send it.

Otto/Mike left today for his last deployment- we are sad but just keep repeating that it is our last time to do the goodbyes- 17 days and counting. Yesterday we went shopping and Ellie used her shopping cart cover for the first time. She was mesmorized the whole time we were shopping as sitting in the cart provided a whole new view of the world. It was so fun to watch and as you can see from the picture with Otto/Mike she still looks pretty tiny in the big shopping cart. She is sitting up better and better on her own and I am sure by the time daddy returns lying on her back and playing will be a thing of the past. She is also chewing on everything in site so she may have her first tooth before daddy gets home as well- we shall see. Enjoy the pics and hope you all are having a great weekend.

Welcome Family and Friends!

With addition of our precious angel, I figured it was time to start a blog so that everyone could be blessed with updates on her many developments and pictures of our adorable baby. All this plus my witty insights - who could ask for anything more from a blog. Enjoy!
